Ambulance 451 alternates monthly with Ambulance 452 as the primary response vehicle for medical calls for service. The unit is equipped to carry advanced life support supplies and equipment to support comprehensive prehospital care.

2021 FORD/LIFELINE

2014 PIERCE ARROW XT

Heavy Rescue 453 serves as the “special service” unit, equipped for technical rescue, vehicle extrication, and dive operations. It also features an air cascade system for filling breathing apparatus.

2005 POLARIS RANGER

UTV 454 is utilized when standard fire apparatus cannot safely or effectively access an incident scene. The unit provides off-road response and logistical support along the lakefront and beach areas and is routinely used during special events.

2014 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN

Command 455 is the staff vehicle assigned to the full-time Deputy Fire Chief and is used for command, supervision, and administrative response, as well as incident management and coordination during emergency operations.

2025 CHEVROLET TAHOE

Command 456 is the staff vehicle assigned to the Fire Chief and is used for command, supervision, and administrative response, as well as incident management and coordination during emergency operations. The vehicle also carries the Department’s drone.

1992 GMC 3500 4X4

Brush Truck 457 is the primary response vehicle for brush and wildland fires. The unit provides rapid initial attack capability and access to off-road or limited-access areas where traditional apparatus cannot operate.

2020 CHEVROLET 2500 4X4
​
Utility 458 is a versatile vehicle used to shuttle personnel and tow department boats and the UTV. The unit is also used as a training vehicle for members traveling to classes and professional development programs. In winter, it can be equipped with a snowplow.
1997 PIERCE LANCE​

Truck 460 features a 100-foot aerial ladder used for elevated rescues, ventilation, and access during structure fires. The ladder can also be deployed as an elevated master stream, providing a high-volume waterway for large-scale fire operations.

2008 PIERCE DASH

Engine 463 typically functions as the second-arriving fire apparatus and is responsible for establishing and maintaining a continuous water supply in both hydranted and non-hydranted areas to support sustained fire suppression operations.

1999 PIERCE SABER

Engine 464 serves as the reserve engine and can also be used to supply Truck 460’s elevated waterway during extended fire operations. The apparatus is currently slated for replacement in 2026 as part of the Department’s ongoing apparatus replacement plan.

Engine 465 is the primary response vehicle for fire-related calls and is equipped with extrication equipment for motor vehicle accidents. The unit supports initial attack, rescue, and suppression operations across the City.

2019 KENWORTH/US TANK

Tanker 467 is used to transport water to incident scenes without hydrant access or an available water source. The apparatus is equipped with a small pump that can assist with engine filling operations or provide limited suppression capability during grass or brush fires.

2024 AB PROFILE 16'

Engine 465 is the primary response vehicle for fire-related calls and is equipped with extrication equipment for motor vehicle accidents. The unit supports initial attack, rescue, and suppression operations across the City.

2010 BOSTON WHALER 25'
​
Marine 469 provides rapid response capability for emergencies on Lake Michigan and is equipped with a fire pump to support fire suppression operations involving boats, marinas, and waterfront facilities. The vessel also supports surface water rescue operations.
